DIY: Clay Mask

DIY: Clay Mask

If you suffer from acne or just need a skin detox, I would recommend this clay mask. Cleansing, nourishing and easy to make, this mask is great for all skin types. Grab your essential oils and customize the mask to achieve your skin goals.

I use this mask about twice a month. It’s one of my favorites to use because you feel it working. Expect a tingly sensation as the clay begins to dry, pulling impurities from your face while the oils penetrate and nourish. For best results with acne prone skin, apply once a week.

Bentonite Clay: Detoxifies and clears skin while shrinking pores

Apple Cider Vinegar: natural astringent and toner

Frankincense Oil: Smoothes skin while reducing the appearance of imperfections

Lavender Oil: Soothes Skin

Tea Tree Oil: Cleanses and rejuvenates skin

2 teaspoons bentonite clay

2 teaspoons apple cider vinegar

1 drop Frankincense oil

1 drop Lavender oil

1 drop Melaleuca oil

  • Side Note:  Do not use a metal bowl or spoon with bentonite clay as it can make it less effective.

  1. Combine clay and vinegar in bowl and stir until well combined.

  2. Apply to clean skin, avoiding the areas around eyes and mouth.

  3. Let dry for 5–15 minutes.

  4. Rinse with warm water and follow with moisturizer.
