Wellness: Gratitude Jar

Best Friend Addie is so cute with her arts and crafts projects, what that girl can do with a piece of paper and a Mason Jar is beyond me. Her latest creation is the Gratitude Jar. It's a fun crafty  twist to an old mental wellness technique, taking the time out to acknowledge what you're grateful for.

Writing about moments, people, or places that make you feel good immediately puts you in a more grateful positive mood. This allows your brain to dwell on those feelings and crave more of it. At the end of your day or even in the middle of a crappy one, take a second to jot down a couple of things that you are grateful for or inspires you and watch as it almost instantly takes you to a better mental space.

How To Make Your Own Gratitude Jar

Things You'll Need:

  • Jar

  • Paper

  • Pen or Pencil

Steps:

  1. Design your jar

  2. Cut strips of paper to write on

  3. Start writing!

The point is to make your jar in the fashion that speaks to you. Fill it with awesome quotes, phrases, or words from the heart. When you really need some time to reflect and pick yourself up from a hard day, take a handful out of the jar and read them back to yourself.
