On the market there are millions of beauty products out there promising to help you achieve beautiful youthful skin and appearance. These products can go for hundreds of dollars, showing little to no results. But did you know that some of the most effective beauty products can be found right in your kitchen?
Here is a list of some great finds in the kitchen that you can put right on your mug (pun intended):
An excellent exfoliant, you can use sugar for both facial and body scrubs. The sugar will gently exfoliate the skin and leave you with brighter smoother skin in its place. My favorite is to mix sugar with some olive oil to exfoliate my lips and face once a week during the dry winter months.
Tea bags can be used to get rid of dark circles under your eyes. Place two tea bags in hot water for a minute and then let them cool. Gently squeeze the excess water out of the bags and place them on your eyes for about twenty minutes.
Green tea makes a good toner for the skin to help refresh and tighten. You can also spritz green tea onto your skin before applying sunscreen as green tea has many sun protectant properties.
Ice cubes can help the appearance of large pores when rubbed across the face after cleansing. They're also effective in helping cure and reduce redness and swelling from bad acne breakouts.
Lemons are used for a ton of beauty hacks because of its anti fungal, antibacterial, and lightening properties. This makes lemons the perfect natural solution for acne and blackheads. When rubbed gently onto the face, the lemon mask can help get rid of oily skin and brighten the skin tone. It can even whiten your teeth.
When used as a hair mask, honey can add shine and softness to dull lifeless hair. It can also be used to dull scars and relieve bad sunburns when dabbed onto affected spots.
Virgin Coconut Oil
Coconut oil has endless benefits. You can use it as a conditioner, shaving cream, moisturizer, the list goes on. If your hair is dull, dry, and damaged, use virgin coconut oil to add shine and repair. Smooth it onto your tresses about once a week to bring your hair back to life.
